LOVE, a New Years Eve wedding they are so much fun. Ashlee and Chad, had asked Simply Brilliant Events to be their Month of Event Management wedding planners more than a year ago and we could not wait to be part of this super fun New Years Eve wedding day and night.
The wedding ceremony was at the Sweetest Heart of Mary in downtown Detroit, such a beautiful church, following by a elegant reception at The Gem Theater at the perfect location of downtown Detroit.
The wedding day started with all the girls getting ready at The Book Westin Cadillac
So much fun!
All the beautiful details of Ashlee’s dress, ring and the stunning blue shoes.
The first look, some couples definitely want to do the first look at their wedding and some don’t. It is always a discussion to have when you are planning your day and how the timeline will be. For Ashlee and Chad, there were many factors before they made their decision. A catholic wedding ceremony that would be later in the day. Plus, most catholic ceremonies are at least an hour long and they wanted to spend their special day together and have fun with all of their bridal party downtown Detroit.
Ashlee and Chad’s day continued on their limo bus with photos downtown Detroit with bridal party before the all important ceremony at the Sweetest Heart of Mary Church, this church is so beautiful, so special to have the ceremony at this church.
It was a cold December day, everyone was very happy to quickly go to The Gem Theater for cocktail hour and the fun to begin.
At The Gem Theater, the cocktail hour is on the first floor and diner reception is on the lower level, perfect for the table combination of long farmhouse table and round tables. The farmhouse tables had been rented from Fancy Fray
Love the different design details with the gold leaf chargers, pocket folded satin champagne napkins, printed menu cards on linen textured paper and personalized calligraphy ribbons. Many layers, creating the perfect look. The chargers from Event Theory and linens from Luxe Linen.
The cake has to be one of my favorites from Elite Sweets, looking stunning in front of the fireplace during cocktail hour on the first floor. Ashlee and Chad decided to cut the cake during cocktail, which is not common to do this, but always remember it is your day and do what works for the both of you. It worked so much better with the flow of the day and where all the guests would be.
First dance…
Let the dancing begin!
What a fabulous celebration of Ashlee and Chad’s love and new years eve wedding,
so much fun for everyone!
