Royal Park Hotel Wedding – Hard to believe that these two lovebirds went to school together from 1st to 12th grade, but even in such a small town, they didn’t start speaking until Megan was off in college in Colorado! A spur of the moment message on Facebook to wish Kyle a happy birthday turned into a long-distance relationship that broke all the stereotypes. Six years later, on a romantic fall ice cream date with their fur-babies, Megan turned around to find Kyle down on one knee, asking her to spend the rest of her life with him!
Megan and Kyle contacted Simply Brilliant Events twelve months before their wedding to plan a very special day for their Royal Park Hotel wedding. One of the most important things for Megan and Kyle, was to have the ceremony at their family home. Specifically in the driveway, yes the driveway! Of course I insisted on a back-up plan with a tent in the back yard.
Megan and Kyle had chosen The Royal Park Hotel, Rochester Hills, Michigan as the perfect place to have the most amazing reception, that would be full of light, many different whites, softness and full of sparkle. But Megan also wanted the design to reflect Kyle. Kyle, is very much an outdoor guy and not the whites and full of sparkle type of guy, wood textures were added to bring the outdoors into the design. These included the wood lining of the invitation envelopes to birch wood in the ceremony to birch wood underneath the cake. Every single design choice we made had to be either white, air (acrylic) or full of sparkle. This included a white dance floor, hanging crystals, glass vessels for the candles, glass beaded chargers and acrylic chiavari chairs.
We worked closely with Casey Remsing from Invitations by Salutations, to create the monogram of Megan and Kyle. A different monogram had been created with their initials before the ceremony and their new initials after they were married. Using the different monograms for the invitations, cake, acrylic cocktail stirrers, acrylic card box, monogramed signage throughout the ceremony and reception.
My favorite moments, when Megan and Kyle walked into the The Royal Park Hotel for the first time was to see their Royal Park Hotel wedding vision really come to life. Truly magical!
