Well I maybe a few weeks late with my year in review, but it is better late that not at all. Don’t you think?  But what a great year 2015 was for weddings at award winning wedding planner Simply Brilliant Events.

I have had the pleasure to work with so many great brides and grooms, families and of course creating so many wonderful weddings, some from the very start which I call full service wedding planning and some later on in the wedding planning journey.  But what has been really exciting is receive awards on all the loveliness that has been created with my couples and Simply Brilliant Events.  In the last few weeks Simply Brilliant Events have been awarded two great awards…… drum roll please……

Wedding Wire Couple Choice Awards, this is awarded to the top 5 wedding industry professionals, this is Simply Brilliant Events 3rd year of receiving this award.

For the first time Simply Brilliant Events has been awarded The Knot Best of Wedding Award 2016.  We are super excited to be recognized by the industry and the many wonderful reviews we received from our couples.

But what about the weddings, the many different styles from glamour and sparkle in the barn, vintage pieces used often, wood used in many different ways, from center pieces to lovingly handmade gift boxes, blush and gold, definitely the most popular combination of colors and don’t forget lots of soft candle light used everywhere.

Cindy and Dan came to Simply Brilliant Events six months from their already booked venue, Lazy J Ranch, Milford, Michigan.  Can I plan a wedding in 6 months?  Of course I can!  The ranch is Dan’s Uncle, so many family events have been held at the ranch over the years they wanted something different, something spectacular.  I think this was achieved.  City comes to the Country.  Take a look at some of the amazing images

This wedding has also been published in The Hour magazine, which is a great honor of course.

Another wonderful wedding at the same venue but a very different look.  This late September wedding, was full of sunshine in the shape of sunflowers.  It was so different from the many summer weddings I had been planning.  It was just so beautiful and it shows how the same venue can look so different.  It is all in the vision.  This is where a wedding planner can really help a couple create a cohesive design, even if they have just an idea, a sunflower or city comes to country, we can create a complete design around this one little gem of an idea.

But before Fall weddings there are the wonderful summer weddings, at Simply Brilliant Events we do about 6 tented weddings a year.  Tented weddings can be challenging but we have become experts at planning and executing these type of weddings, so most challenges we have come across before and found solutions.

Ashley and Wes, this was in a beautiful house in Manchester, MI, had been in the grooms family for generations.  Not only by a lake but with wooden cabins that we used for serving drinks, creating seating areas and a fun cake table including a wagon wheel.

Yes it does rain at outdoor weddings!  Yes its a shame but it really doesn’t matter, it can still be beautiful, if you have a wedding planner there will be plan B and C.

Another memorable wedding has got to be Sarah and Blake, she wanted her wedding at the family farm, that had been in the family for many years.  On the farm was this beautiful old barn.  The couple were Latter Day Saints, so we were not present for the ceremony but that allowed more time to make the reception truly memorable.

The design, Kate Spade inspired with black and white, gold and pops of pink.

There were many other wonderful weddings with truly wonderful couples, that have entrusted Simply Brilliant Events to plan such as special day in their lives.  One of these couples were Meg and Josh there were such a fun couple to work with.

Meg and Josh’s wedding was a more intimate affair but it was wonderful and very special to them and their families.  Take a look.
