Beile and Jorgen asked Simply Brilliant Events to find a venue that was a little bit different from your average venue. They wanted some where fun perhaps a little quirky and maybe not a sit down affair but more of a strolling one where the guests from a far could mingle.
Hmm…we searched and looked at many different venues through out Ann Arbor, Michigan but finally decided on The Natural History Museum, Ann Arbor, Michigan. http://www.lsa.umich.edu/ummnh/. The Museum is full of amazing animal exhibits, some you may not of heard of but mainly dinosaurs.
When planning a celebration in any public venue is always a little difficult, most often access is limited until the venue is closed to the public. At the Natural History Museum, access was allowed an hour before it closed which did allow for us to load, tables, chairs, linens, all kitchen items and of course the chuppah. The chuppah was hand made by the Groom and constructed on site with the help of the groomsman.
Once the ceremony was finished, all the guests headed to the third floor for cocktails and appetizers. While the guests enjoyed cocktails, the Rotunda was transformed into the dancefloor complete with DJ and an additional bar.
Soon the guests moved to the 2nd floor with all the natural flowers from the talented Ruby Slippers Designs for the strolling reception provided by Frita Batidos, Cuban inspired street food. http://www.fritabatidos.com/. With the strolling reception, guests could mingle, eat and enjoy the exhibits!.
Cake and toasts continued on the 2nd floor, the cake was amazingly decorated by Jefferson Bakery, with just the right pops of color against the back drop of exhibits.
The evening continued with dancing in the rotunda.
Congratulations to Beile and Jorgen!
Thanks to all the amazing vendors, Imagine 3, A1 Rental, Ruby Slipper Designs, Frita Batidos and Lisa Mohan Photography.
