Can I have a favorite client, not really but if I could, Erin and
Jay’s vintage inspired wedding would be in my top 5….
When I first met Erin and Jay more than 12 months before their big day, they described their day full of love and friends, but we want the wedding in our back yard on a lake, with a tent and a floating barge as a dance floor. We have no idea where to start which is why we need a wedding planner, followed by much nervous laughter. How could I say no!
Typically I use rectangle tents for weddings but sometimes the landscape gets in the way, this is one of those times. Hexagon tents are great for working around corners such as large trees or awkward landscaping. For the floorplan I created the feel of long tables echoing the outside lines of the tent with 3 8ft tables joined together for the center tables.
To complete the overall design all the tables had white linens, burlap runners and eggplant napkins with heart shaped cookies as favors. The eggplant napkins pulled in the colors from the vintage boxes which over flowed with purple and orange flowers.
The couple created many personal touches with hand made wooded signs and many chalk signs from wedding instagram, his and hers wedding cocktails to cupcake flavors.
The cake table over flowing with cupcakes of many different flavors and one small special cake for the couple to cut. Creating many different layers and levels of cakes with vintage glass cake stands and old crates.
The day ended beautiful with dancing on the floating barge and the rain held off for another day.
Erin and Jay lived “Happily Ever After”
