Meagan and Chendhore, just after Christmas had a beautiful wedding in Frankenmuth, Michigan. Can’t wait to see the images. In addition to the photographer they choose to use a videographer to not only create an amazing video of their day but also to create a same day edit of their amazing wedding day.
What exactly is same day edit, I can hear you ask. Same day edit of a wedding is footage from getting ready, pre-ceremony, ceremony and often candid moments from the bridal party. This is then very quickly put together by the videography team to create a 5 minute “film” of the day. Shown at the reception and is often the highlight of the wedding reception!
If you are thinking of same day edit, a couple of points you might want to consider:
- This can be additional charge to what you have already agreed with your videographer. But often this will be included in the package or might just need an additional videographer.
- Think about timing of your ceremony and reception, if there is not much time between the two events, will there be enough time to edit. Typically a 3-4 hour window will be required. A great time to show the film would at the end of toasts or before first dances.
- Where will the film play at the reception? Most venues will require you to rent an additional screen but some like the Frankenmuth Brewery for Meagan and Chendhore’s wedding, already has television screens for the film to be screened.
What does a same day edit look like, take a look at Meagan and Chendhore’s, remember this was put together in a couple of hours and the couple only wanted to music as the background. Often couples like to include parts of the ceremony or toasts at the wedding reception.
Enjoy, let me know what you think
