With over a decade of experience in the world of events, Nicola Wilson’s planning career started across the pond, where she produced acclaimed corporate events in her hometown of London. (British accent alert.)

In 2012, she and her husband made the move to Detroit, and Nicola knew immediately: she loved Michigan (and Target…and Starbucks) and wanted to continue her planning career in the States—but she was longing to build personal relationships with her clients (something that corporate event planning didn’t typically allow for). So, she made the natural move to wedding planning and Simply Brilliant Events was born.

With work featured in The Knot and Detroit’s The Hour Magazine, Nicola has since planned and produced over 200 experience-rich weddings for discerning couples from Detroit, Chicago, New York, and beyond.
